This is caused by Freesync (specifically Adaptive sync enabled on a Nvidia card). It’s a general Unity issue and affects all node based assets – Bolt, Flow Canvas and even Shader Graph. Search tool for all these assets was broken for me. Same with some native Unity UI such as the radial menu for calling the asset browser, which also was unresponsive.
Now that I’m getting back into the swing of things, this appears to be a general Unity issue because it also happens in Unity’s asset browser and even Bolt. No idea how or why, perhaps an engine level bug or something with my PC.
So it doesn’t appear to be time related, instead it seems to be tied to my mouse movement. If I stop the cursor from moving before releasing the click – it works. If I continue dragging the mouse after releasing the click – it doesn’t work.
